A while ago I reported about the erection of the new Tamedia building by Shigeru Ban in Zurich. In a few days, a new pavilion by Ban, designed to cover the terrace of Villa Wesendonck, Zurich, will open. During the summer months it will be used as cafe, and for theater plays, concerts, and readings. Read the press text here (in German). 
For the structure of the pavilion, Ban establishes the world's first application of structural carbon girders, and combines them with cardboard tubes.
